Tiles, tiles & more tiles

Whilst looking for colour inspiration for some tiles for the courtyard here are a few images I came across

& as usual overwhelmed by choice, can we live with lots of colour without getting bored of it ? or is neutral too safe and boring .....

 I could live with a ceiling like this so guess the answer is go for colour

Getting creative now the workroom is clean !

So I had this frame hanging around collecting the dust, with a view to putting in some photographs in, but then a happy thought popped into my head.....

the big clean up

we have a floor which was covered in a yellowing varnish, we scrubbed, polished and mopped endlessly but it still stayed yellow, the only way to bring it back to white was to use a stone grinder, this created an unbelievable amount of dust...

it was like living in a snow globe for 3 days , but not pretty !

I will post some images of the result later when its ready, but firstly got the workroom cleaned up so some creating could begin.

What a way to spend an afternoon I took my book to read but the view was so fabulous we were happy with hours of watching the sun sparkle on the sea, finished with a cold beer and steak sandwich .... BLISS

Boxing day sunshine

The weather has been so wonderful after a lazy Christmas day a walk on the beach was an inspiration.

sunday was a rainy day in  England, we are missing our Daughter who loves laudree macaroons.
so Ronnie made them for the first time to practice for her return from USA, she has always wanted
a stack of macaroons piled high, so we do need lots of practice!.

It's been a while since I have posted on the blog,
I saved this image quite sometime ago, & I apologise as I cannot remember the source, for some reason the image came to my mind today, so here I am sharing it with you, perhaps I am feeling a little whistful, it is such a beautiful image though, and inspires me to paint ,
There is a Spanish artist, Golucho whose work I adore , his painting of girl at a table has a similar quality of calm contemplation, I will see if I can find the image to share with you.
